Wilfried von Rath

Wilfried von Rath was born in 1964 in Mülheim an der Ruhr and studied Psychology at Ruhr University in Bochum. In 1999, he completed an on-the-job MBA program at Ashridge Business School in the United Kingdom.

He began his professional career as consultant and trainer for EU-financed projects in Eastern Europe. In 1991, he became Junior Partner at the management consulting company System Management in Heiligenhaus.

In 1994, Wilfried von Rath joined Lufthansa Consulting in Cologne and became Senior Consultant Human Resources. He managed international consulting and training projects in organization development, change management and service quality in Europe, the USA, South America and Asia.

In 1998, he joined the Volkswagen Group as Head of Management Training and became a Member of the Management Board of Volkswagen Coaching GmbH in 2002, which was active in the areas of professional and vocational training, continuing education, management development, and consulting.

Starting in 2006, he became Head of Group HR Top Management at Volkswagen AG. In addition to his HR responsibility for members of the brand management boards and top managers of the Volkswagen Group, he was responsible for global assignments, group management policies, and group talent management.

In 2011, he became Board Member Human Resources at Volkswagen Slovakia a.s. in Bratislava. He was the HR responsible for the production launch of the "New Small Family" model line.

Since October 2013, Wilfried von Rath has been a Member of the Executive Board of MAN Diesel & Turbo SE (now MAN Energy Solutions SE) where he is responsible for Human Resources.

Wilfried von Rath ist honorary professor of the University of Applied Sciences in Aachen, married and father of five children.
