MAN Energy Solutions attended the press conference of Marintec 2021 as speaker
Known as the beacon of international maritime technology development, Marintec China is one of the world's most influential and large-scale maritime professional exhibitions in the world. Marintec China made its debut at the beginning of the China Reform and Opening-up. It is held every second year in Shanghai. To date, 20 consecutive editions of Marintec China have been organized with huge success. As the 21st edition, Marintec China 2021 will be held in Shanghai Expo Center from 7th to 10th December this year.
On 12th Oct, the press conference of Marintec China 2021 was held in Shanghai. Invited by the organizer Shanghai Society of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers (SSNAME) and Informa Markets, as one of most famous and important player in world maritime industry, MAN Energy Solutions has attended the press conference, joined with representatives from local government, industry associations and various medias. We are proud that MAN Energy Solutions is the only company who has been invited to join the conference as guest speaker.

Decarbonization starts with fuel flexibility
Mr. Mikael Adler, Head of Region Asia Pacific for MAN Energy Solutions has given a speech upon the press conference with the topic of “Decarbonization Challenges and Future Development of Marine Industry”. His speech received a very warm echo and attention of the audience. After introducing the background of MAN Energy Solutions as the member of Volkswagen Group, Mr. Adler highlighted that MAN Energy Solutions has become an important solution provider for decarbonization and therefore the company name has been changed from ‘MAN Diesel & Turbo’ into ‘MAN Energy Solutions’.
“As the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of low and medium speed engines, 50 % of power needed for all world trader covered by our engines. So we feel our strong obligation in reducing the emission at sea“ said by Mr. Adler. ”MAN leads to way to the green future in shipping and we believe fuel-flexibility will be the key in the future. Future fuels are on the rise, with Ammonia, LNG, Methanol and Synthetic fuels taking the lead. Mr. Adler was also interviewed by China Business News (CBN) during the press conference. “For us, Marintec China is one of the most important exhibitions we could attend and actually one the few we do attend this year because of COVID-19. We are here to drive shipping forward into a carbon neutral future” said Mr. Adler. “I see definitely a lot more interest in cleaner fuels and less emission from the industry. And everybody is asking us the big question, what is the fuel of the future going to be?”
