Dr. Uwe Lauber
Dr. Uwe Lauber was born in Bad Säckingen in Germany in 1967. After graduating from high school he studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences of Technology, Economics and Design (HTWG) in Konstanz and obtained a Masters Degree. In 2000, he studied Business Engineering at the business school in St. Gallen. In addition to that, in 2009, he received a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Kronstadt.
After working for over nine years in the company BOC Cryostar in different positions (e.g. Engineering Manager, Section Manager, Director Turbomachinery), he joined Sulzer Turbo – the today’s MAN Diesel & Turbo – in 2000. He was responsible for the design, research & development and testing of compressors at various locations for the Oil & Gas Business Unit until the end of 2010.
Since December 2010, he was Head of the Business Unit Oil & Gas (MAN Diesel & Turbo SE, Augsburg / Germany) as well as CEO of MAN Diesel & Turbo Schweiz AG (Zürich / Switzerland). The MAN Diesel & Turbo production sites Berlin / Germany, Changzhou / China, Deggendorf / Germany, Zürich / Switzerland and the magnetic bearing company MECOS AG / Switzerland are allocated to the Business Unit Oil & Gas.
He has been a member of the Executive Board of MAN Diesel & Turbo SE since October 1, 2014, and was responsible for global sales and after-sales activities until January 1, 2016.
Since January 1, 2015, Dr. Uwe Lauber has been Chief Executive Officer of MAN Diesel & Turbo SE.
In addition to his position as Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Lauber assumed additional responsibility for the area of technology at MAN Diesel & Turbo SE on June 21, 2016.
Since March 1, 2017, Dr. Uwe Lauber is a member of the MAN SE Executive Board.
Since February 21, 2018, Dr. Lauber is Chairman of VDMA Engines and Systems.
He is married with two children.
