Changzhou celebrates 100th locally-produced RIKT compressor

At a ceremony on October 18th, 2019 at MAN Energy Solutions China Production Co., Ltd in Changzhou, MAN Energy Solutions celebrated the production milestone of delivering its 100th locally-produced RIKT compressor, bound to drive a state-of-the-art ASU (Air Separation Unit) built by Air Liquide E&C Solutions for the Ruixing Group, the chemical concern.

Attended by 100 participants, including representatives from key customers and partners, the ceremony marked a new milestone for MAN Energy Solutions’ localised production. The Changzhou site began manufacturing turbomachinery in 2009 and the first RIKT compressor was delivered on November 16th, 2010 to a Chinese customer.

Dr. Uwe Lauber, Chief Executive Officer of MAN Energy Solutions, attended the ceremony and welcomed guests on behalf of the company. He said: “We are very proud to witness the 100th launch of our RIKT compressor. Ten years ago, we overcame many challanges when we first decided to transfer the know-how from Europe to China. Today, we are glad to see the hard work of our global team has paid off as we have reached this new milestone with so many great partners.”

Air Liquide is a global leader in gases for industry, health and the environment, and is an MAN Energy Solutions key customer. Chen Dong, Senior Project Manager of Air Liquide E&C Solutions (China), spoke to the assembled guests and highly praised the cooperation between MAN Energy Solutions and his company: “We appreciate the great work that the sales and project management team have done throughout the project. We are looking forward to the successful installation and commissioning at our site.”

After the ceremony, Dr. Lauber presented a symbolic key to Huang Xiufeng, Deputy General Manager of Ruixing Group, and ultimate end-user of the 100th locally-produced RIKT compressor.

MAN Energy Solutions handles the manufacture of radial, axial and integrally-geared compressors, steam turbines, turbochargers, RENK bearings, as well as the packaging of gas turbines and screw compressors at its Changzhou facility.

The ability to manufacture locally in China – allied with intensive quality assurance during production – has enabled MAN Energy Solutions to produce machinery with the same design specifications, production standards and processes as found at its European plants. The Changzhou service workshop offers customer service for any kind of turbomachinery repair and overhaul.
