In the container ship industry, the trend towards sustainable fuels is intensifying. Stricter environmental regulations are driving extensive research into future fuels. Still it remains challenging to predict which future fuels, such as methanol, will prevail.

To minimize risks for shipowners, merchant marines, shipyards, and design institutes, we have developed the future-fuel-ready MAN 35/44 CD. This genset operates with conventional fuels but can easily be retrofitted to accomodate the environmentally-friendly fuels of the future.
